PETITJEAN is a French historical manufacturer of lighting poles in public places reputed to the technical services of the cities for the quality of its products. Thanks to a partnership with the QOS Telecom operator, it now integrates Wi-Fi terminals on its lighting poles.

La Chapelle sur Erdre, September 25, 2018 – To be successful, the integration of public Wi-Fi terminals in urban areas must be as discreet as possible, while being positioned as close to the public.
Therefore, in order to limit the multiplication of radio devices attached to the facades or urban furniture of the city centre, QOS Telecom and PETITJEAN have jointly conceived a new range of public lighting poles, called "LINK", with modern aesthetics, Purified, incorporating latest generation light sources as well as "operator" class Wi-Fi equipment.
"LINK" combines the state of the art with the most advanced of the expertise of the manufacturer of lighting poles and that of the urban Wi-Fi operator who gathered around a common sense of reliability, aesthetics and technical performance.
On this "LINK" range, the Wi-Fi terminals are discreetly integrated into the lighting poles without any compromise on technical quality and radio coverage. These connected lighting poles aim to provide Wi-Fi connectivity in popular public places such as commercial squares or historic city centres.

According to Gilles Delaunay, Innovation Manager at PETITJEAN: "Even if France has one of the best coverage in the world for 3 and 4g in the city, the public Wi-Fi makes sense especially for the student audience, rarely having unlimited 4g packages, as well as for foreign visitors who make Tourism or are on a business trip. Wi-Fi makes the cultural and tourist communication of a city very effective vis-a-vis these targets and gives it a dynamic image.
As a first step, our priority is to carry out the implementation of these LINK masts on several referent sites in France. But, very soon our offer will be positioned in a competitive way at European level and beyond our continent '
.

Jean-Luc Volcovici, general manager of QOS Telecom is proud to announce this very qualitative partnership: The Association of lighting poles and public Wi-Fi is of interest to our customers in more than one title. The lighting poles are the ideal supports for our Wi-Fi terminals, as they are located close to the users.
Furthermore, the pooling of public lighting infrastructure with the public Wi-Fi proposed by QOS Telecom is an additional step for SmartCity. Our Wi-Fi mesh allows cities to connect objects (video-protection cameras, fluid consumption sensors,...) through a dedicated, secure and reliable Internet network. It is a technological choice that strengthens the autonomy of communities and allows them to consider their future connected in an evolving way.
With this partnership with PETITJEAN upstream of the projects, we are able to make preliminary recommendations on the spacing of the "LINK" lighting poles and to accompany the communities on the way to the best possible Wi-Fi mesh within Their public space "
